Cat O'Clock was a cyborg nekomata/cat/stopwatch-themed monster who served as the main antagonist of the episode "The Adventures of Redbot".
History[]
Cat O'Clock is first seen in Galvanax's ship when he accompanies him to make Cosmo Royale and some Kudabots get back to work as they are reading Redbot's blog. Cosmo then mentions a book signing, which gives Cat O'clock an idea and he freezes Cosmo with the Time Remote. This gives Galvanax the idea to freeze the Ninja Steel Rangers and steal their Ninja Power Stars. Cat O'Clock witnesses all six of the Rangers fighting off an army of Basherbots in front of a truck containing Redbot's books, which gives him the idea to freeze the people by manipulating the books. Cat O'Clock goes to the Summer Cove High School and freezes both the people and all six of the Rangers with the Time Remote but it does not freeze Redbot for he is a robot and not a human, much to the cat monster's shock. The monster attempts to snatch the Rangers' Ninja Power Stars but gets scared off by Hayley's dog Kody. After the Rangers are freed thanks to Redbot, they battle Cat O'clock as he summons an army of Kudabots. During the battle, he accidentally reveals the secret that can remove the freeze spell from the people and gets held down by the Rangers with the Element Star Ninja Forest Attack and the Ninja Battle Morpher Claw Shred, allowing Hayley to strike him in the chest with the Arrow Blast. Now angered, Cat O'Clock charges only to be destroyed by Brody and Hayley's Red and White Ninja Strike Steel Slash Final Attack.
He is then gigantified by Cosmo so the Rangers summon the Ninja Steel Zords to battle him. He is scared off by the Kodiak Zord due to it being a dog and gets bitten in the back before Brody summons the Rumble Tusk Zord to ambush him with its Gust Attack. The Rangers then form the Rumble Tusk Ninja Steel Megazord before Levi joins them as Cat O'Clock fires an eye laser for which the Megazord deflects and counters it with the Mega Gust, knocking him down. With the Rumble Tusk Ninja Steel Megazord's Double Axe Final Attack, Cat O'clock is destroyed for good and can only bemoan his complete failure of a plan before being obliterated. Behind the Scenes[]
Portrayal[]
- Cat O'Clock is voiced by Charles McDermott, who previously voiced Bigs from Power Rangers Megaforce.
- Cat O'Clock's voice was identical to Bigs's voice.
Design[]
- Cat O'Clock's design was a combination of a tabby cat and a digital watch.
- Via his Sentai counterpart, Cat O'Clock was based upon the Nekomata from Japanese mythology. They are a kind of cat yōkai described in Chinese and then Japanese folklore, classical kaidan, essays, etc. There are two very different types: those that live in the mountains and domestic cats that have grown old and transformed into yōkai. Nekomata are often confused with bakeneko.
- The metallic parts of Cat O'Clock's body were reddish orange in US footage whereas they were regular orange in Ninninger footage. The orange was also used on his action figure.

Notes[]
- Cat O'Clock was defeated three times in Ninninger, with the first being at Hayley's hands but was cut for both time and episode pacing since he appeared in two Ninninger episodes.
- The time on Cat O'Clock's chest clock, Sunday 7:30 am, was the Super Sentai time slot on TV Asahi in Japan when his counterpart made his appearance in Ninninger.
