Cardiatron is the heart of the Hatchasaurus who serves as the true main antagonist of the episode "Birds of a Feather."
History
Hatchasaurus and Cardiatron were created by Finster. Rita send Hatchasaurus to Earth near the Angel Grove Power Plant where it was destroyed by the Tyrannosaurus Dinozord but Cardiatron made him reform so they deployed in the Megazord. Then they again encountered the monster and they used the Power Sword to get the same result. Cardiatron resurrected and enhanced Hatchasaurus who easily overwhelmed the Rangers. To defeat the Hatchasaurus, the Rangers had to get inside the Hatchasaurus and destroy Cardiatron. Jason got into the monster but Cardiatron wrapped him up in his tentacles and rendered him helpless. However, Jason quickly summoned the Dragon Shield which let him break free and empowered the Dragonzord (restrained by Rita earlier) to break free and drill into the monster's stomach, throwing Cardiatron and Jason out of the monster onto the fields below. Jason tried to run him down but was blasted although Jason remained resilient. He then charged faster than the heart could react and Jason used the Power Sword and Dragon Dagger to destroy Cardiatron with a devastating green and red energy slash which made him explode into tiny red sparks. Hatchasaurus was then finally destroyed by the Ultrazord. 
TV STORY-Birds of a Feather
Hatchasaurus later reappeared in the second season when summoned by the Terror Blossom with Cardiatron apparently back as well. This time around, he possessed the capability to speak with Cardiatron not having a single line. Like the first time, the Rangers had to destroy Cardiatron, before they could destroy the monster completely. To defeat it the first time, they merely emitted smoke from a nozzle in the Thunder Megazord's chest, but it quickly reassembled. The second time around, Hatchasaurus survives the Thunder Saber which apparently destroyed Cardiatron inside of the Hatchasaurus. Powers and abilities
- Strength: Cardiatron could hold a struggling Jason in his tentacles as well as thrown him across a field with them.
- Durability: Cardiatron sustained the destruction of the Hatchsaurus by the Tyrannosaurus Dinozord, Dino Megazord, and Thunder Megazord and withstood it to reassemble the monster.
- Reassembling: Cardiatron can resurrect the Hatchsaurus after he is destroyed.
- Enhancement-Cardiatron would also make him progressively stronger in the process. The only way to stop the monster from becoming unbeatable due to his strength was to disconnect and kill Cardiatron.
Arsenal
- Tentacles: Cardiatron has long orange tentacles that he can use to throw around his enemies like toys.
- Electrocution-Cardiatron can charge up his tentacles with red energy to electrocute his enemies which he did whilst restraining Jason.
- Energy Blast: Cardiatron can fire large red energy blasts from the tips that are powerful enough to take down Jason in one hit.
Notes
- How Cardiatron actually resurrects the Hatchasaurs is inconsistent and odd. The first time that it is shown, after the Tyrannosaurs slew the beast, he can be seen sucking the pieces of the monster towards him but in the second, after being killed by the Megazord, just rises into the air and the monster reforms around him from orange energy.
- It is entirely possible that there is no real way that Cardiatron resurrects the monster and it is just situational. The reformation is used for when the monster has just been blown apart and the energy reformation may be used if he was vaporised (as he was when the Power Sword hit him).
- Strangely, Cardiatron was given a name whereas his direct counterpart was a genderless being just referred to as "The Heart." He could also speak unlike his counterpart who remained completely silent.
