- "Silence! After five hundred years, one of the transmitters we spread throughout space has finally activated. Your malice, wrath, blood, lust, and ninjitsu...For the sake of conquering that bloated, wealthy planet...I will put those evil powers to good use. You will bring 'it' to me!"
- ―Leader Tau Zant's first words when shutting up his underlings whilst they gaped at the modern wonders of 2002 Japan. The "it" he is referencing is the Evil Will.[src]
- "That won't work!"
- ―Tau Zant after Oboro Hinata told the Hurricanegers to kill Tau Zant with the Victory Gadget and his final words before his death.[src]
Boss Tau Zant (首領タウ・ザント Shuryō Tau Zanto) was the leader of Jakanja and the initial main antagonist of Ninpu Sentai Hurricaneger.
History[]
Prior to Hurricaneger[]
Five hundred years ago, Tau Zant learned of the Evil Will and intending to evoke it to destroy the universe and become a god of the new universe that would be created as result. From the very start, he attempted to bring about the Evil Will's coming by building the Jakanja organisation to aid in this quest, though in actuality he cared nothing for his comrades, as they were nothing more than his sacrificial pawns, with Seventh Spear, Sandaaru realising it.
Hurricaneger[]
After having the Hayate's Way Ninja Academy destroyed, Tau Zanto first tried to acquire the Evil Will by having the Gouraigers kill each other through their fathers' method and later with Sixth Spear, Satarakura's subordinate Fangerus. Though both attempts failed, Tao Zanto found an alternate means after probing Third Spear, Manmaruba's mind to learn of the Raging Arrow and the Grieving Bow.
Once he ingested both weapons, Tau Zant used Satorakura to gather enough energy to assume a suitable fighting form to use the Karakuri. Once Satorakura became compromised by the interference of the Hurricanegers, Gouraigers, and Shurikenger, Tau Zanto attacked the Group with a burst of lightning before welding the device that was storing the energy to Satorakura's arm and then sent Sandaaru to retrieve the backpack from Satorakura once he started use the energy for himself. As a result Tau Zant transformed into the gigantic Tau Zant Ultimate Form (タウ・ザント究極体 Tau Zanto Kyūkyokutai).
Though he was able to open the wormhole, Sandaaru wounded Tau Zant, forcing him to make his way to the wormhole, becoming one with the Evil Will as it began to destroy everything until the Hurricanegers managed to reverse the process. However, Tau Zant, with the Evil Will inside him, emerged and fought the alone Karakuri Giant Senpujin. Though mortally wounded, Tau Zant grabbed Senpujin as he exploded, taking Senpujin with him. However, Tau Zant survived and the Evil Will assumed the guise of all Seven Darkness Spears, until they were defeated by the two Ranger teams. Tau Zant proceeded to overpower the Rangers without mercy, but their refusal to give up enabled them to overwhelm Tau Zant with the Five Ninjas, Shadow Dance and kill him with the Victory Gadget's Destruction Decimate attack, destroying both him and the Evil Will forever.
Personality[]
Tau Zant is a serious, ruthless, cold, scheming, calculating, and power-hungry mastermind, obsessed with utter universal domination. He is completely arrogant, egomaniacal and power-hungry and his ultimate dream is to find and invoke the Evil Will and use its power to destroy and recreate the universe in his image and then emerge as a god of the newly recreated universe. He views himself as an unequal mastermind and dreams to unite with Evil Will to commit the universal destruction and recreate the entire universe and then rule the universe as a god with all of existence at his command. He is highly calculating, intelligent and scheming, always creates his plans with high accuracy and many steps. One of his most cunning plans was when he kidnapped the two surviving students of Ikazuchi's Way Ninja Academy, the Gouraigers, and forced them to join his Jakanja army and serve him. He is also highly abusive, careless and treacherous and is devoid of compassion towards everyone. He doesn't care about his own comrades Jakanja and is willing to sacrifice anyone of his army for his goals. The good example is when he betrayed Sargain ad ordered Sandaaru to kill him, just because Sargain was no longer needed, which was extremely unfair and treacherous, because Sargain was loyal to him and always loyally followed his orders. Ultimately, Tau Zant's arrogance was his main weakness because he underestimated his former minion Sandaaru and was betrayed and destroyed by him. He also underestimated the Hurricanegers and was eventually defeated by the heroes.
