To initiate a transformation, the Boonboomgers first press the pedal three times, then roll the changer's wheel down their left arm. The changer then slots itself onto the brace and the Bakuage Tire is attached to their heads, completing the transformation.
Summoning[]
To summon the mecha, the Boonboomgers slot the Boonboom Cars onto the back of the changer.

By holding the lever down, a Boonboomger are able to do special attacks. Typically, this is expressed by enlarging the tires on a Boonboomger's suit, either on their back or their heels, as well as great bursts of speed.
Once enlarged, the tires can then be used for offensive or defensive purposes.

To activate a finisher while in Bakuage Gattai Boonboomger Robo, a Boonboomger presses the pedal three times while the changer is attached to the Boonboom Handle.

After summoning the mecha, the changer is then attached to the Boonboom Handle, the weapon itself acting as the steering wheel for the mecha.
Communication[]
The Boonboom Changer can be used like a telecommunication device, allowing communication with anyone that can access the Boonboomgers' communication line, such as the Boonboom Booster or the computer set up that Bundorio manages underneath Taiya's manor.
Other Uses[]
- Shirabe Saibu once used a Boonboom Changer to display images of Eiichiro Tokoyari's collusion with the Hashiriyans before he is arrested.
- Joe Gibken temporarily transformed Ichiro's Boonboom Changer into a Ranger Key which he used to Gokai Change into Bun Blue.

- The Boonboom Changer is visually designed to combine together various items related to racing for its theme: a lap time stopwatch with a speedometer for its trigger and face, the top of the trigger mechanism is modeled to resemble a gas pedal, and the overall body of the Changer incorporates a tire and exhaust pipe of a racing car in a way that makes it visually resemble a turbocharger.
