- Blue Vein Monster was designed by character designer Muneo Kubo.
- "At first there were not so many lines. Anyway, I was running the pen and trying to find the shape of the monster with lines on its body when Mr. Yoshikawa said, "It's a blue-veined monster?” Perhaps it reminded him of Vein Mask from "Gorenger”. So he became a monster with blue stripes all over his body.” (Kubo)
