Bitscreem was a cybernetic Grim Reaper/computer virus-themed Sporix Beast and the nineteenth Sporix Beast to awaken in modern times serving under Void Knight in Power Rangers Dino Fury season 2. He is the main antagonist of the season 2 episode "Numero Uno" and the first primary monster of the second season of Dino Fury.

History[]

Bitscreem (hatching)

Bitscreem hatching from a computer.

Bitscreem was recruited by Void Knight off-screen and appears from Mucus's tablet. He then confirms that Void Knight is still alive and demands that Mucus and Slyther follow his orders.

Bitscreem materializes from Izzy's phone. Izzy, Aiyon, and Javi morph, but Bitscreem attacks the Gold Ranger when the latter tries to put his books down. The trio fights against Bitscreem, but the latter rematerializes from Javi's Stego Fury Strike. Then, the trio uses a combo of Boost Keys to overwhelm Bitscreem, but the latter vanishes with no trace of his Sporix Cell. Once the battle ends, Aiyon gets his books as the owner of a flower cart cries since the fight broke it. Javi uses the Fix-It Dino Key to repair the cart to make up to the flower cart owner. Just after Javi finishes, Bitscreem materializes from a security cam and steals the Dino Key from him.

The Rangers regroup at Dinohenge to figure out what is going on, though Amelia is distracted by BuzzBlast work to join in on the conversation. Izzy wonders why Bitscreem stole the Fix-It Dino Key from them since it's useless without a Chromafury Saber to activate its powers. However, they piece together that Bitscreem could be working for Void Knight as he never went on a rampage like other Sporix Beasts in the past. Amelia doubts that Void Knight survived the explosion, but the others are willing to investigate further to find out what really happened. Izzy recalls how Bitscreem exited from the security cam, and Ollie finds the footage from the area. As Amelia leaves to help BuzzBlast to help with the servers, the others review the footage. They see Bitscreem steal the Fix-It Dino Key from Javi and another footage that shows the flower cart owner to be none other than Slyther in disguise. Then, they see Slyther and Mucus looking at a tablet and bowing as if they were taking orders from somebody. Zayto says that if Void Knight is indeed back, they must deal with the situation before he does any more damage.

Before Izzy could bring Amelia back to Dinohenge, she sees a glitch in Ollie's laptop and gets a realization. Recalling that the same glitch affected her phone, Izzy immediately realizes that Bitscreem is spying on them. Taking advantage of it, Izzy abruptly suggests destroying Void Knight's Saber before Bitscreem gets to it. The other Rangers are confused by this, but Izzy tells them that Bitscreem was listening to them. The monster relays the news to Void Knight but promises to get the saber back by playing smart.

Outside Dinohenge, the Rangers strap the Void Saber with explosives, but Amelia still doubts that Void Knight is alive. As Amelia gets another call from BuzzBlast, the Rangers get to their positions and make their presence known so Void Knight's henchmen would go after the Saber. Getting annoyed by the supposed waste of time, Amelia takes Ollie's laptop and joins in on the scheme. She has the others hide in the bushes, only to get a call from BuzzBlast. Amelia puts the phone on speaker, just as Slyther and Mucus teleport behind the other Rangers. Bitscreem takes advantage of the distracted Amelia and teleports from her phone to retrieve the Saber.

With the plan ruined, the Rangers have no idea if Void Knight is alive. However, Zayto convinces his team to fight against Mucus and Slyther, leading them in a morph. However, Mucus and Slyther teleport away as Bitscreem taunts them from Ollie's laptop. Undaunted, Zayto calls for the T-Rex Champion Zord and the Cosmic Combo Raptor Zords, forming the T-Rex Cosmic Megazord. Zayto uses the Megazord's portal gun to teleport it into the laptop so he can fight against Bitscreem. Zayto blasts at the Beast, but the latter reboots and attacks with a Hack Attack. In response, Zayto summons the Mega Fury Saber and attacks with the Cosmic Gateway Strike, neutralizing Bitscreem, whose Sporix was released from within the laptop and picked up by the newly restored Void Knight. Bitscreem participates at the invasion of the Sporix during the final battle against the Rangers and the Rafkonians. He appears along with Tombtress and Sugarhit to fight the Rangers and the Rafkonians after Shockhorn, Junkalo and Quickspine's defeats. They are defeated off-screen by the Rafkonians, their Sporix Eggs were used by Void Queen to create Nemesis and after the Rangers' victory, they are imprisoned forever by Master Red, Blue and Green in a crystal. Personality[]

Bitscreem is a tech-crazed Sporix Beast that loves to wreak havoc around the city. He was highly loyal to Void Knight and followed orders without question. He also had a habit of stuttering while he spoke.

Powers and Abilities[]

Powers[]

  • Teleportation: Bitscreem can teleport at will.
  • Digital Transport: Bitscreem can convert himself into electrons to travel through the Internet.
    • Digital Spying: From an electronic device of some kind, Bitscreem can spy at his victims from its screen.
  • Enlarging: Bitscreem can enlarge himself with the energy he gains while fighting but he appears to have done this off-screen.
  • Reboot: Being a tech-type Sporix Beast, Bitscreem can reboot himself to heal whenever he gets attacked.
  • Hack Attack: Bitscreem can fire light green colored projectiles shaped like himself that explode on the opponents, and even join back into one.

Abilities[]

  • Agility: Bitscreem has excellent agility to dodge his enemies' attacks, allowing him to dodge three of the Dino Fury Rangers' sword attacks.
  • High Intelligence: Also being a Sporix Beast that's themed on tech, Bitscreem is shown to be one of the more intelligent monsters of the Power Rangers Dino Fury series, such as using the Pink Dino Fury Ranger's iPhone in order to sneak up and obtain Void Knight's Saber.

Weaknesses[]

  • Exposure From Glitch: When Bitscreem enters the Internet, it gives off a glitch to indicate his presence.

Arsenal[]

  • Scythe Arms: Bitscreem wields a scythe chine blade on each arm for combat.
    • Scythe Summoning: Bitscreem can summon his scythe blades at will.
    • Energy Empowerment: Bitscreem can energize his scythe arms with yellow-green energy and slash at full force.

Behind the Scenes[]

Portrayal[]

Design[]

  • Bitscreem has a gray hooded hunchback-like appearance and a black face with light green eyes, nose and a skull/jack-o-lantern/knight mouth plate-like mouth. His legs appears to have dark red armor and green spheres with skulls on both his skirt armor and boots. While Bitscreem does have hands with smaller light green spheres around his wrist, he can also summon a silver scythe chine blade on each arm.

Etymology[]

  • Bitscreem's name is a portmanteau of the words "Bitstream" and "Scream".

Notes[]

  • Bitscreem is the first major Sporix Beast of Season 2, the first and only Sporix Beast to have his Megazord fight in the digital dimension, and the first Sporix Void Knight collects in Season 2 as the Fly Sporix Beast serves as a minor villain.
  • Bitscreem is the first monster of the Power Rangers Dino Fury series to succeed in his mission.
  • Bitscreem is similar to Hacktrack from Power Rangers Ninja Steel and parallels with him, as they are both themed after tech, have hacking-based abilities, and blade-like weapons. Additionally, they both debuted in a Power Rangers installment labeled in events (Power Rangers Ninja Steel is the fourth/final installment of the Nickelodeon era of Power Rangers, while Power Rangers Dino Fury is the second installment of the Hasbro era of Power Rangers) and are both monsters labeled in odds that also appear in the episodes that are also labeled in odds (Hacktrack is the seventh monster of Power Rangers Ninja Steel who appears in the seventh episode of that show, and Bitscreem(if excluding the Fly Sporix Beast) is the first monster of the second season of Power Rangers Dino Fury who appears in the first episode of that show).
    • Additionally, one of Bitscreem's abilities is called "Hack Attack", which is also the same name as the Power Rangers Ninja Steel episode that also debuted Hacktrack.
  • Bitscreem has many similarities to Shockhorn, who serves as the first monster in the first season of Power Rangers Dino Fury, as they both serve as the first Monster-Of-The-Week of their respective seasons (excluding the Fly Sporix Beast as he was a minor villain), show high loyalty to Void Knight, possess bladed weapons (Shockhorn: Rapier, Bitscreem: Scythe Arms) and fought the Red Dino Fury Ranger on their own, who also rides his T-Rex Champion Zord and are both collected by Void Knight after their defeat, though they share opposite traits:
    • Shockhorn is a Sporix Beast that's themed after a mythological creature who appears in a two-parter episode, he fights the Red Dino Fury Ranger's T-Rex Champion Zord in its Battle Mode in the real world and has no projectile-based attacks of any kind.
    • Bitscreem, however, is a Sporix Beast that's themed after technology and appears in a solo episode, he fights the Red Dino Fury Ranger's T-Rex Champion Zord in its Cosmic Megazord form in the digital world and has projectile attacks.
  • Unlike his Sentai counterpart, Bitscreem's costume was modified to show him having arms and hands with it, implying that he can summon his weapons.
