This article is about a/an episode in Power Rangers Cosmic Fury. |
Beyond Repair[1] is the second episode of Power Rangers Cosmic Fury. It marks the final appearance of the Dino Fury Pink, Black, Green, and Gold Rangers, and the final appearance of Doodrip, as well as the only appearance of the Dino Fury Black Ranger with a cybernetic arm.
Synopsis[]
The Cosmic Fury Rangers prepare for a possible galactic invasion by Lord Zedd while Amelia tries to cure a Ranger turned bad. Javi learns to accept his new loss.
Plot[]
As Billy does some measurements on Javi's left arm for a prosthetic for his missing arm, Solon comes in with hot chocolate for the latter. However, Javi is still depressed about his missing arm despite Billy telling him he did the right thing on Zordnia. Still, Javi has a lot on his mind, the fact he must tell his parents the bad news and the fact he had a demo recording in the works before Zayto summoned the team.
Amelia and Dr. Lani come in and ask Solon for the applicator they need for the antidote, and she goes with the two to find it. Alone, Billy tells Javi that his musical abilities will never disappear despite his life-changing and expresses belief in the latter.
Solon gets the applicator for Dr. Akana in the med bay as the latter sets it up. Still, Akana does not know if it will work as Ollie was exposed to more of the mind control poison than last time. As they spray Ollie with the antidote, Aiyon sees Mick off as the latter goes in the Cosmic Grizzly Zord to find Zayto.
Later that day, Izzy, morphed as the Dino Fury Green Ranger, tells her father at Aiyon's Café about the risk of another alien invasion and how they warned world leaders before coming to BuzzBlast. Jane and J-Borg offer an intergalactic broadcast to lure Lord Zedd to Venus, but Warden Garcia shoots down that idea as they do not have the exact details of Zedd's plans, Garcia decides not to alert Pine Ridge about the worst, especially as his children are focused on their futures. Izzy agrees and takes her leave.
Meanwhile, Lord Zedd and the Squid Ink Inc. forces are close to Earth, only for a Zentinel to receive an incoming message from Doodrip. Doodrip reveals that he stole a Mega Squidrill to regain his job by destroying the Rangers himself, and it turns out to be Squillia's ship. Despite the concern that Doodrip could destroy the Rangers before he could, Zedd decides to let the former do the heavy lifting because, win or lose, he will take the credit.
At Dinohenge, Ollie wakes up only for him to attack Amelia and Dr. Lani. Amelia orders Lani to exit the room and lock the doors while she teleports herself out and back to the main chamber. As the two see Ollie trash the med bay, Lani theorizes that the poison has corrupted her son's Ranger energy, which was why the antidote did not work like last time. While Lani tries to reassure Amelia, she admits how terrified she is that she may never get her son back. Still, Lani and Amelia think of another way to save Ollie. Because the poison was made to corrupt Ollie, and with the corruption of his powers, Amelia believes they could find a way to save him using Dinohenge.
At the Garcia house, Izzy puts her stuff for Oakdale college, as Fern shows up while she drops her stuff. Fern thinks she is trying to break another record. Izzy tells her more bags means bigger guns. They hug. Fern asks Izzy what happened with the Rangers, but the latter decides to downplay the truth by saying they did well on Zordnia. Izzy tells Fern that she plans to go to Oakdale College with Fern and will divide her time as a Ranger and student. But before going inside to get more things, Solon contacts Izzy and tells her about a Mega Squid Drill approaching Earth. Izzy is forced to leave, but she promises Fern she will meet her at her house at three o'clock. Izzy kisses Fern's cheek and teleports away.
As the Rangers see the Mega Squidrill, they assume Lord Zedd is approaching. Izzy suggests using the Zords to stop the ship from entering Earth's orbit and prevent any worries. Before they leave, Javi sees the team off as he cannot join them in the fight with only one arm. Billy offers his assistance and joins the three able Rangers in the Zords.
As Doodrip's ship approaches Earth, a Zentinel senses the Zords coming after them. Doodrip orders the Squid Drones to attack them, and Billy questions why there is no supporting fleet near the Mega Squid Ship. Still, the Rangers destroy the Squid Drones with a Cosmic Blast and a panicked Doodrip contacts the Rangers, taunting the team. Recognizing him as the one who corrupted Ollie, Amelia orders the team to form the Cosmic Fury Megazord as payback. After Aiyon and Izzy damage the Mega Squid Ship with the Cosmic Scorpion and Cosmic Bull Zords' weapons, the Rangers use the power of all 9 Zords to fire a Cosmic Mega Blast at it. Before going to the escape pod, Doodrip warns the Rangers that Lord Zedd will come for them soon, but it's too late as the Mega Squid Ship explodes.
After the fight, the Rangers return to Dinohenge to see Solon put the final touches on Javi's new cybernetic arm. However, the arm goes out of control as the sync rate of Javi's brain and cybernetics is not stabilized, and in the process, he nearly pushes Izzy into a red button. Fortunately, Aiyon catches Izzy before she can press it, and Solon covers it back up, explaining that it has never been pressed before. Solon tells Javi it will take time to get used to his new arm, but she and the others will support him in his new situation.
As for Ollie, Amelia and Dr. Lani reveal their new plan to save the former. They will use the Tricera Dinohenge Statue and an energy conductor to shoot Ollie with pure Morphin Grid energy, hoping it will fix his corrupted link to the Grid. However, Lani says that if it does not work, then it proves that Ollie's Ranger energy has changed for the worse. Still, Amelia says that they must move fast because, with Lord Zedd soon approaching, they need everyone on board.
Meanwhile, Lord Zedd's forces have arrived on Earth, and he orders a ground assault on Dinohenge.
Later that day, Fern comes to the Garcia house and asks Rina where Izzy is. Rina says she does not know where Izzy is, but after checking her phone, she goes to Dinohenge to find her.
Meanwhile in Dinohenge, Izzy uses the Invisi Dino Key to cloak the statues in an invisible dome as Lani prepares the energy conductor on the Tricera statue. Aiyon and Billy stand by for Lord Zedd's forces and see Zentinels approaching them. As Billy fights the first wave, Aiyon notices Fern biking towards them and tries to stop her. However, more Zentinels corner Aiyon, and Fern is blocked by another group. Because everyone is too busy to get Fern, Javi volunteers to save her as he knows Amelia will not get another chance to save Ollie.
Javi morphs with his robotic arm being part of his Ranger suit now, and teleports to Fern's location. Despite trying his best against the Zentinels, Javi struggles due to his robotic arm glitching out. Lani tells Amelia that she is ready for Ollie now, and the latter lets him out of the med bay. Ollie claims that the antidote worked, and he is back to normal, but Amelia does not buy that as she can read his mind.
Javi deals with the Zentinels and teleports Fern into Dinohenge, telling her to hide in the bathroom while he helps Amelia with Ollie. They teleport him outside, and Lani shoots her son with pure energy from the Morphin Grid, causing a shock wave that knocks everyone off their feet, and reverts the effects of the Invisi Dino Key. Unfortunately for them, a Zentinel sees this and alerts Lord Zedd. Zedd teleports down, and Amelia tells Solon and Lani to get somewhere safe. After Zedd knocks down Billy and Aiyon, he wastes no time and destroys the Dinohenge statues one by one, destroying the Dino Fury Rangers' powers and causing them to demorph. Before Zedd could destroy the Tricera Statue, Ollie asks him to spare it and swears loyalty to him, confirming that the experiment failed. Ollie throws his Chromafury Saber at Amelia to prove his loyalty, cutting her cheek, and the Rangers are forced to teleport back to base.
Lord Zedd orders Bajillia to send a Squidrill down and drill into the Rangers' base so he can finish them off. As the Squidrill burrows into the Earth, Aiyon and Solon have no choice but to push the red button on the console and teleport the base from Earth. Although Zedd is angry that the Rangers escaped his clutches again, he knows they will not last long without their powers. Also, Zedd orders Ollie to find his former teammates, which he accepts. Afterwards, Zedd declares that the Earth is his to rule.
In the far reaches of space, the Rangers look at where they went, Erridus. Although the planet has an atmosphere and gravity field like Earth's, they are 30 million light years away from home, and the mass teleportation system was a one-way trip. While the team is safe from Lord Zedd, they are stranded on a remote planet with no powers, no Ollie, and no idea where Zayto is. Still, Amelia says that despite their losses, she refuses to give up as they have each other, and they can get through this. As the Rangers start getting their morale back, Fern enters the chambers, wondering what is happening. Izzy is shocked.
