Design[]
Bakuki is based on the baku, a tapir-like yokai known for eating dreams. He was designed by Hideo Okamoto with his design incorporating a shaman with Freddy Krueger-like claws and sported demonic bat-like wings and a demonic pointy tail. The hearts on his robe were inspired by hearts painted on a night stop's storefront that Hideo saw while he was in America.
