Synopsis[]
The manga depicts the past of Ishiro Meita, a freelance spy who graduated from a spy training school with top grades. When he's asked to investigate an unknown object that crashed from space, his life takes a drastic turn when he meets Taiya Hando.
Plot[]
Chapter 1[]
After another victory over the Sanseaters, Taiya tells Ishiro that he feels that things have become more cranked-up with more Boonboomgers around. Ishiro thinks they're unruly, but Taiya asks him if he preferred working alone. Mira cuts their conversation and tells them that they should go back to the base because Bundorio made curry. As they walk back home, Ishiro recalls his first meeting with Taiya.
Two years ago, Ishiro is tasked to recover a classified package stolen from an organization. After successfully completing the mission, Ishiro is driving back home and gets a call from his client, who thanks him for the help and asks him if he wants to work for his organization. Ishiro refuses, so the client hangs up but not before telling him that he can always change his mind. Ishiro comments about the lack of honor or glory in the world of spies, and how he would trust no-one but himself. That is, until he met Taiya.
While on the road, a young man in a fancy red car drives next to Ishiro. Ishiro thinks that he's challenging him for a race, and the man eventually passes him, almost causing Ishiro to crash. Ishiro is astonished at his driving skills when he gets a call from another client: ISA's Director of Operations, Eiichiro Tokoyari. Tokoyari tells him of an unknown object that crashed in Japan from space, and that it has already been recovered by someone. He asks Ishiro to find the person and permits him to use force on them if needed.
Ishiro gets in a hotel and find out that the target is the same man he met on the road before: Taiya Hando, an intellectual man who became wealthy at a young age. Ishiro finds the blueprints of his mansion and notices that he keeps a big space in his basement empty. Ishiro decides to go there and find out what Taiya is hiding.
Chapter 2[]
Ishiro arrives at Taiya's mansion and bypasses all of the traps placed in it until he trips on a rope. Taiya comes behind Ishiro and aims his Boonboom Handle at him, calling him a thief. To Ishiro's surprise, Taiya is impressed at the way Ishiro infiltrated his house, and asks him to work for him. Suddenly, a mechanical being comes behind Ishiro and tells him that the trap was Taiya's idea. Taiya introduces the robot as the reason Ishiro is here: A mechanical alien called Bundorio Bunderas who Taiya found after he crashed on Earth. Ishiro asks what he's hiding in his garage, and Taiya and Bundorio tell him that they've put the garage together to make their dream come true: Racing in the Big Bang Grand Prix across the galaxy! Ishiro finds Taiya's reason to risk his life for Bundorio to be foolish and childish, but Bundorio gets mad at him because Taiya is keeping his dream alive.
Ishiro recalls his time as he was trained to be a spy. Dreams were only an illusion for him back then. Taiya then asks for Ishiro's name, and Ishiro answers but refuses to cooperate with Taiya. Taiya suggests that Ishiro would be his Informant and help him with delivering intel. Ishiro asks him why he's only using his wealth for deliveries instead for bigger things, so Taiya tells him that he'll know when he'll make his first delivery. He lets Ishiro go, trusting that he won't tell anybody about Bundorio and guide himself by taking his own wheel. On his way back home, Ishiro calls Tokoyari and lies to him that the crashed object that Taiya found was nothing but remains of a satellite.
Chapter 3[]
When Ishiro gets out of the sauna and recalls his first deliveries for Taiya: He had to find a lost toy of a child and drive a singer who was late for her performance. He gets a call from Taiya, who tells him he has another job from him, this time from the CEO of Lightning Tech, Raita Naito. Ishiro is surprised that Taiya is in contact with such a successful person, and Taiya tells him that Raita is like a mentor to him. When Ishiro arrives, Taiya informs him of the mission: A scientist of Lightning Tech has been kidnapped and they have to locate him! Ishiro locks into a security camera in the scientist's captors' location and finds out that they're armed and that it'd be a challenge to get in. But Taiya has a plan...
On their way to the captors, Taiya suggest to approach them from the air, but Ishiro doesn't understand how they can do that with his car. Taiya then calls Ishiro "Chasshiro", an alternate reading of the first Kanji in his name. Ishiro dislikes the name, but then Taiya pulls the gear stick of the Boonboom SuperCar, causing a rocket to come out of its hood and launch them right into the gates of the captors. The two of them are chased by the captors who try to gun up their car, an they're unable to fight back because the Boonboom SuperCar was damaged when it landed. When one of the captors pulls out a rocket launcher, Ishiro asks Taiya to aim the car higher, and then shoots a bullet, which hits the rocket exactly at its tip and saves the two of them! The two eventually find the captured scientist and return him to Lightning Tech's headquarters.
Ishiro tells Taiya that taking on these voluntary jobs won't earn him a living, but Taiya tells him that he can't ignore screams of help. He then tells Taiya that their next mission is to find a lost dog. As they're talking, a young man with a lollipop is watching from afar, and wonders how things will roll around now that Taiya has a partner.
Chapter 4[]
Ishiro is called by Taiya, who's working on creating the Boonboom Changer and Boonboom Change Axe, for another job. Their client wants them to participate in a dangerous underground race and deliver them the prize: an old bottle of wine worth a billion Yen. Ishiro asks Taiya how they're going to participate in the race, since the Boonboom SuperCar was still damaged from their last delivery. Suddenly, a young man comes from behind them and tells them that he'll procure them a new ride, to Ishiro's surprise. Taiya introduces the man as Genba Bureki, his procurer. Genba tells Ishiro that he's heard a lot about him, and asks him to work together from now. Ishiro doesn't trust him, but Taiya tells him that Genba impressed him as much as Ishiro did, so he can be trusted. Genba procures them a new car for the race.
In the race, Ishiro is impressed by the car and finds it easy to drive. He asks Taiya who's his procurer, but Taiya only tells him he has a good taste in partners. Suddenly, a large monster truck comes from behind them. A pickup truck with a hot-headed driver bumps between them and another car, but gets "eaten" by the monster truck. Ishiro decides to use violence against violence and shoots one of the monster truck's tires to no avail. As they drive on a bridge, the monster truck's driver suddenly causes it to crash, and a woman who was on it is hanging so to not fall from it! Ishiro is angry at the Monster Truck's driver for endangering an innocent woman to win, but unfortunately his car has been shot. Taiya then catches a parachute thrown at him by Genba and gets out of the car, saving the woman and using the parachute to land both of them safely. Ishiro wins the race and finds Taiya and the woman safe and sound. Meanwhile, the monster truck driver got his truck stuck on top of the collapsed bridge.
Ishiro admires Taiya for helping him win the race while also managing to save the girl, and feels that working with him is like getting himself to a world he's not familiar with. Taiya thanks Ishiro for winning the race and the wine, but Ishiro tells Taiya it's all thanks for his quick thinking. Taiya suggest that they'll have a second round of racing between them, and Ishiro says that he'll happily go up against him.
Chapter 5[]
Ishiro accompanies Taiya to a foreign country to bodyguard a royal princess while she explores the lives of her people. However the princess runs off on her own and is kidnapped by a group of bandits who wish to sell her. The team arrive and rescue her. After returning her to her family at the castle, the team return back to Japan. They receive a letter from her, which she writes that she is studying hard to become the best princess she can be and welcomes the team back should they return.
