This is the conclusion to the first arc of the Boonboomger Saga,[1] featuring the debut of Boonboomger Robo Knight and the first death of Raid Team Captain Madrex who will return as Madrex Fury 19 episodes later.

Synopsis[]

Taiya was reckless by himself and got seriously injured in a fight with Madrex. Because of this, Shirabe says, "The Boonboomgers are disbanded"...!? Why is Taiya putting his life on the line for his dream? And can the Boonboomgers fight Madrex again and win?

Plot[]

Continuing from the previous episode, night has fallen at Hando Manor, where Taiya is all bandaged up and resting in his bed. Down in the garage, Genba is surprised that Taiya screwed up so badly this time as the rest of the team are still coming to terms with their first defeat and Taiya lying to them. Shiro isn’t too upset, as the enemy was simply too strong for them. Bun Bun is at the computer, working on fixing the Boonboom Cars until Taiya wakes up. Jyo asks if it is for Taiya’s dream to race, he doesn’t understand what Taiya is thinking. Ishiro tries to defend Taiya saying that he never got around to explaining his intentions, but Jyo lashes out at him saying that he doesn’t explain anything either.

Genba says that Ishiro has always been soft on Taiya and all three of them are about to start fighting when Mira shouts for them to knock it off. She wonders what they even mean to Taiya and why he would risk his life for some Grand Prix. Bun Bun is about to say something but is interrupted by Agent Saibu, who finished her report to the ISA about the team’s defeat and Taiya’s true intentions with the Boonboom Cars. She says it is fine to have a dream, but not at the expense of the Earth’s safety and they need to face reality. The ISA is going to go with their original plan, seizing their equipment to give to a task force to defend the planet given that Taiya seemingly only cares about a personal agenda rather than the lives of people. In short, because of their failure and the compromised nature of their leader, the team is to be dismissed effective immediately.

The team is in shock, but Mira protests because they agreed to work alongside the ISA and not for them. Agent Saibu says this is about a bigger picture than just their team, the Earth’s future of peace and the survival of humanity are on the line. Genba jokes at Jyo that they get fired just a few days after they took the job. Shiro thinks that this is just for the convenience of the ISA, but Shirabe says that now is not the time to be chasing dreams. Bun Bun gets angry and says that there is nothing wrong with chasing a dream, confessing that the dream of the Big Bang Grand Prix was originally his dream before it became Taiya’s.

Bun Bun finally opens up about how he came to Earth: Long ago, he was a racer in the BBG until he got into an accident that resulted in the revoking of his racing license. Lost without a purpose, he wandered the universe, an accident happened and he fell towards Earth crashing somewhere in a Japanese forest. When he briefly regained consciousness, Taiya was there and he used a tow truck to haul the injured alien back to his garage. When Bun Bun fully regained consciousness, he found that Taiya had repaired his body. He was impressed by the human’s mechanical skills, to which Taiya said that he loves working on machines, building them and making them work. He saved Bun Bun because he interested him, as Taigā goes to clean his car, Bun Bun tells him he loves cars as well and told him everything about himself including the Big Bang Grand Prix and his dream. Taiya, without hesitation, says that he loves Bun Bun’s dream and will work with him to deliver that dream to him, he will be the driver and Bun Bun will be the mechanic to get back into the BBG. Taiya made this a promise between them and Bun Bun cried thanking him, wondering why Taiya is so driven to help him, with the latter saying that is just something a delivery man does.

Bun Bun says that day Taiya gave him a new dream, the drive to keep on living and pursuing his passions, something that he had forgotten about when he was lost. They built the BoonBoom Cars together and will win the BBG and despite everything, they will not give up on their dreams. Now understanding that Taiya didn’t create the Booonboom Cars for entirely selfish reasons, the team and Agent Saibu are silent and thinking about what they are going to do next.

The next day in the alley, Decotrade and Itasha are tending to Yaiyai, covering him in bandages after getting squeezed nearly to death by Madrex. They praise him for doing a good job in helping the boss, but Yaiyai is traumatized from the experience and crying about how much pain he’s in. But he is then thrown out of Decotrade’s hands by a raging Madrex, who vows to destroy Bun Red and tear the tires off his suit to give as a present to Waruido Spindo, smashing and kicking trash as he shouts. He will not end the fight in a draw like his previous battles, determined to win this time.

Back at Hando Manor, Taiya finally wakes up and struggles his way downstairs to the garage. He asks Bun Bun about the status of the maintenance on Boonboom Racing, to which Bun Bun says that while fixing the faults in the steering control program are almost done, the extreme g-forces of its acceleration are still a little too much for the Ranger suits to handle as far as protecting them goes. Taiya says that he will just have to try to endure it and the suit modifications will have to wait. He notices that everyone else is gone and asks where they are, with Agent Saibu saying that they left to face Madrex.

The Rangers are in an industrial park and getting pulverized by Madrex, who gets fed up with fighting them, knocking Mira to the ground and then picking her up by the neck and choking her, demanding that she bring Bun Red to him. He tosses her on the ground and continues to fend off the five Boonboomgers, saying he has no time for them. Taiya sees this through a patched in feed from a security camera on his Boonboom Changer and tries to go to help, but winces in pain from his injuries. Agent Saint says that she doesn’t understand why the others decided to fight, as Taiya had no intention of protecting Earth. She asks what is his reason for fighting if protecting others doesn’t interest him. He says that he and Bun Bun can have an opportunity to chase after their dreams when it is all over. Shirabe still doesn’t understand, asking why he delivers things in the first place, Taigā says he doesn’t really know but maybe he will find an answer when he delivers Bun Bun’s dream.

Back at the fight, the team tries to better coordinate a combined attack, which does improve their chances but ultimately they are repelled and beaten out of their transformations. Just as Madrex is about to go in for the kill, but his dog hears something and barks, with Madrex seeing Taiya’s car pull up. Shirabe says she brought a delivery for the Boonboomgers as Taiya gets out.

Madrex is eager to get the final fight started and Taiya is ready to settle things, but Mira gets up and says that she never said to take the wheel away from her and she chose to fight. The team all agree to help Taiya carry out his delivery of Bun Bun’s dream, with Jyo renewing his resolve to protect the team and their dreams and Genba does not want to give up his chance to be part of the team. They all understand Taiya’s motivations now and transform with him to face Madrex together. After doing their roll call, the Rangers huddle in front of Madrex and push him with their boot wheels, knocking him off balance long enough to land several hits. Taiya holds down Madrex when he uses his Deathrod attack while the rest of the team surrounds him. They all do a variation of the blade formation of the Bakuage Handling Drive, drilling the evil Commander’s screws to critically damage his body.

On his knees about to be defeated, Madrex orders the Sanseaters to give him more Ghassolin, which Yaiyai doesn’t want to do given what happened last time but Decotrade and Itasha do not want their boss angry at them so they force Yaiyai towards Madrex by kicking him and the poor car is painfully squeezed like an orange yet again. Madrex grows into a giant and Taiya calls for the Boonboom Cars, deciding to take a risk and use Boonboom Racing immediately, hoping that his team’s support will be enough to surpass the dangerous car’s blistering speed. The team form Boonboomger Robo Knight with Classic equipped. Agent Saibu says that she feels the team finally understands their leader and his drive as a delivery man.

Madrex tries to ram the new Robo combination, but Bun Bun nitro boosts with the Bakuage Burner to move faster, the intense G-forces hurt the Rangers but they hang on and land a direct hit on Madrex, knocking him off his unicycle. Madrex tries to keep up but Knight is stronger and faster than him and then he gets pummeled by the other Boonboom Cars ramming him in the chest wound he received from Bun Red earlier. Bun Bun says this is the true power of teamwork as all the Cars, Rangers and him are united against Madrex. Madrex makes one last attempt to destroy them but gets fatally slashed by the Bakuage Sword: Boonboom Finish attack. Before he dies, Madrex says if that is all Bun Red has then he is not good enough to take down the boss of Hashiriyan, Waruido Spindo.

The Sanseater Trio are in dismay at the death of their boss while a powered down Bun Bun celebrates the victory of the Boonboomgers and thanks the Cars for coming to aid them.

Later at the garage, Bun Bun makes victory BoonBoom Curry for everyone, Taiya tries to get some but is too sore from his injuries and the rough ride in Knight. Ishiro chastises Taiya for pushing himself even harder to end up like this. Agent Shirabe says that the ISA order to shut down the Boonboomgers has been rescinded. Taiya asks if she had anything to do with it but she denies this (but she is lying a bit). She bashfuly asks Taiya to deliver her Belora CD gift to Bun Bun, who wonders why she can’t deliver it herself. She watches how happy Bun Bun is as he serves curry and celebrates the ultimate team that they have created. She smiles but then Ishiro swipes her gift and gives it to Bun Bun, who thinks Ishiro got him the CD and bear hugs him in gratitude, which Ishiro is not a fan of and demands to be let go. Agent Saibu protests saying it was a gift from her, Taiya laughs at this and silently thanks everyone for supporting him.
