Bakuage 40: The Immeasurable Man (はかれない男 Hakarenai Otoko) is the fortieth episode of Bakuage Sentai Boonboomger.
Synopsis[]
A boy who is a fan of the Boonboomgers becomes an apprentice to Jyo! Just then, a new Grumer appears and the whole town is in a panic. The new Kurumaju's unbelievable attack reveals the "embarrassing numbers" of Jyo and the others...!?
Plot[]
The episode begin with Ishiro as the focus. During his investigations about ISA, Ishiro ends a phone call with someone and comes across Jyo, Mira, Genba and Bundorio, who greet him and ask him what he's doing. He answers that he's not doing anything, and asks what them, especially Bundorio, are doing outside. Jyo tells him that the four of them are going to a Belora fan convention. Ishiro expresses his concern at Bundorio wandering around while Waruido Spindo is looking out for him, but Bundorio says that now that he decided to face Spindo, he's not going to hide anymore. The other Boonboomgers add that Taiya allowed him to go outside, and that they'll keep an eye on him.
Suddenly, someone taps on Bundorio's legs, so he looks down and notices a young boy. The boy is happy to see the Boonboomgers and asks them where's Bun Blue, shocking them. The boy says he wants to be cool and professional like Blue, and before realising that Ishiro is him, Ishiro tells him that Bun Blue is busy and that he should ask Jyo about becoming his apprentice before walking away. Mira figures that Ishiro isn't suited for mentorship, and suggests that Genba could become one for the kid, but when she and Jyo turn around they notice that Genba and Bundorio have ditched them to attend the Belora convention. Mira then decides to let the boy become her apprentice but Jyo stops her and volunteers instead. The boy, named Itsuki Hirose, agrees, so the two of them begin patrolling together.
Back at the Boonboomgers base, Taiya tells Sakito and Byun Diesel about Spindo buying the BBG, persumably after Byun-Dy retired. Taiya asks for their help, and Byun-Dy tells him that he'll contact his friends of the "cleaning" business for assistance.
Jyo takes Itsuki and Mira alongside him as he partakes in kind activities: He helps an old lady on her way home, fixes a bike, finds a lost dog and retrieves a soccer ball that fell into the lake, accidentally falling as well in the process. Itsuki isn't impressed by all of that and asks Mira why Jyo isn't showing them the Boonboomgers' activities. Mira tells him that the Boonboomgers don't always fight, but they're interrupted by a woman's scream. Jyo rushes and finds the woman, whose bag was stolen by a thief, and throws him on the ground. Suddenly, a director appears and gets angry at Jyo for interrupting his film, in which the thief and the woman were actually acting.
In the Hashiriyans' warehouse, Waruido Spindo compliments the Sanseaters for their efforts, and Grantu Risks adds that the three of them have managed to collect enough Ghassolin. The Sanseaters thank them, and Spindo decides to appoint them as his three elite commanders. The Hashiriyans pose together, but then Spindo and Risk disappear in a flash, revealing that the meeting was in the Sanseaters' imagination. The Sanseaters want this to become reality, so Itasha creates Taijyukei Grumer from a bathroom scale.
Jyo berates himself for messing up with the movie, but is glad that it wasn't a true criminal case. Itsuki, however, is disappointed in Jyo for making the mistake, because in his opinion heroes don't make mistakes. Itsuki then remembers a sad memory of his past: While he and his younger brother were playing in the playground, Itsuki went to grab them some drinks, but while he was away his brother fell from a jungle gym and got injured. Itsuki felt remorse for not watching over his brother.
Taijyukei Grumer starts tying up people and revealing their embarrassing secrets in the form of numbers. Even the Sanseaters admit this is pitiful and don't want to fall victims for this ability, but Itasha cheers up on him because he's succeeded in collecting Ghassoline. Jyo, Mira and Itsuki arrive, and to the former two's surprise, Itsuki poses alongside them. They pull him away, but Taijyukei Grumer shoots Mira, tying her up and revealing that she failed her driver's exam six times. Jyo tells her that he doesn't think it's a big deal, but Mira is still embarrassed because of her status as the Boonboomgers' main driver. Taijyukei Grumer then shoots Jyo and reveals that his lowest score on an exam was -10, but Jyo doesn't care and breaks free. Taijyukei Grumer shoots him again and reveals that he only stopped wetting his bed at age 13, that his fly was open 108 times, that his bank account's balance only has 2,024 Yen (equals to around $13.30 USD), and that at the age of nine he made a big mistake. Whlist Jyo is heavily weighed by the last statement Taijyukei had presented, he decides to tell Itsuki about the mistake he made when he was around his age...
When Jyo was nine, he accidentally put his father's wet Police jacket on the heating stove to warm it up, implicitly almost causing an electrocution, and ruined his father jacket as well. When Jyo's father asks him why he did that, Jyo tells him the reason above and apologizes, Jyo's father realizes that he should've told Jyo that it was a dangerous thing to do, and tells him to never lose his kindness and that he shouldn't be afraid of making mistakes, or else he'd be afraid to do anything, and wasted his life. Back in the present, Jyo tells that to Itsuki, and adds that even heroes makes mistake, but it's their kindness that makes them push the pedal to the metal, breaking free of Taijyukei Grumer's effects. The Kurumaju is in disbelief that Jyo broke free using his own free will, and Jyo tells him that when you learn from a mistake, it's not a mistake anymore. The Kurumaju flies to the sky out of shock after Jyo berated the Grumer about him not truly weighing anything about the former before crashing back on land, and Mira frees herself as well after listening to Jyo's words, realizing that her past mistakes shape her into the person she is today.
Jyo and Mira transform and begin fighting Taijyukei Grumer and the Nejiretta. Taiya, Ishiro, Genba and Bundorio all arrive to assist them. After destroying the al of the Nejiretta, the five of them transform into the Champion Boonboomgers while Bundorio escorts Itsuki to a safer place. Jyo attacks Taijyukei Grumer with Patrol Car 1 Customize, and the other Boonboomgers help him activate Bakuage Champion Drive. The Kurumaju's scale breaks when he tries to measure Jyo's almost infinite powers before Jyo land a clean punch and destroys him.
Disappointed at another failure, the Sanseaters enlarge Taijyukei Grumer, so the Boonboomgers form Boonboomger Robo Champion to fight him. Unfortunately, the Kurumaju summons a scale beneath the robo's feet, revealing that it surpasses the legal weight that cars should weigh in this area. Bundorio strips of most of his Champion parts, but is still too heavy. Suddenly, Sakito and Byun-D join in with Byunbyun Mach Robo ToQ Custom and begin attacking the Kurumaju. Taijyukei Grumer tells them that even though they broke his scale, he knows that Mach Robo is also too heavy, but Byun-D tells him that he doesn't have to abide to the laws because he's not a car - he's a train. An awkward silence ensues until Mira breaks it as she realizes Byun-D's clever plan to use Technicality against the Grumer unfair system, so the Boonboomgers use Boonboom Goal Line on Taijyukei Grumer, destroying him.
Back at the base, the Boonboomgers unpack the Belora merchandise that Genba procured, including a Belora necktie for Ishiro which he declines. Bundorio notices that Jyo isn't in the base and wonders where he is. Meanwhile, Jyo is walking in a park when he notices Itsuki telling his brother about him as the two roleplay as Boonboomgers.
In a hangar storing a Boonboom Killer Robo, Raita Naito and Maimi Baisu meet with Waruido Spindo and Grantu Risk. Raita tells Spindo that the Killer Robos, now outfitted with a "Gekitotsu Buster", are ready for deployment. Spindo delightfully looks forward for the world being drowned in fine Ghassolin as the episode ends.
