The episode is a crossover with Ressha Sentai ToQger in commemoration of the show's tenth anniversary, and features the return of Akira Nijino and Right Suzuki, as portrayed by Shin Nagahama and Jun Shison respectively.

Synopsis[]

Genba tries to take revenge on Disrace by himself and is defeated. When he wakes up, he finds Akira Nijino, AKA ToQ 6gou of the ToQgers...!? What did Akira tell Genba amidst all the trouble that ensued?

Continuity and Placement[]

Plot[]

Continuing from the previous episode, Genba finally regains his consciousness after his failed attempt in his revenge against Disrace. He's greeted by the duo of Sakito and Byun-Di, who tending his wounds. Genba inquiries about their current location, only for Sakito to declare that he also had No idea, since the one who dragged Genba to their current place is Byun-Di. Byun-Di commented that based on Genba's current condition, it's safe to assume that Genba lost against Disrace. Hearing the name of his arch nemesis, Genba prepared to leave for another revenge attempt. However, he's struggling to keep standing up. As Byun-Di approach the Bureki Seijin with worry, a morose and familiar Harmonica sound can be heard nearby. With the Duo Cleaner asked who play the harmonica, a man, clad in construction worker attire stands up and looked at them in confusion as well.

Meanwhile, at the Boonboomger base, Boondorio is currently shown sewing the Boonboomgers new costumes for space usage using space fibers and traditional sewing machine. Mira is excited by this event while Taiya and Ishiro are currently developing the final touches for the new Boonboom Car and future Trinkets on the PC. Mira then saw a roll of Orange colored fabric amongst the color of the other Core Boonboomgers, including Grey and White colored ones. She smiled at it warmly as she's remains optimistic that Genba will return as a Boonboomger one day.

Back at Genba & Sakito's location, the man with harmonica finishes tending Genba wounds, much to Genba's appreciation and Sakito's awe. The man then introduces himself as Akira Nijino after Sakito's failed attempt to Butter him up by calling him 'Buddy'. Byun-Di apologizes to Akira that they had intruded his place without his permission. Akira accepts his apology as he was about to leave anyways, because he's finished the rail maintance. Sakito asks what rail maintance is, and Byun-Di explains that Akira fixes railways to help trains run safely. Akira also adds that he's a ToQger and begins playing his harmonica again. Genba gets up and tries to go to beat Disrace, but Byun-Di tells him that he has no chance defeating him in his current state. Sakito is enraged and they begin to quarrel while Byun-Di tries to stop them, but Akira has an idea to resolve it.

On a train track, the Sanseaters are saddened by the fact that couldn't get MadRex's memories back, and that Disrace is angry at them for their constant failures. Yarucar imitates Disrace and cheers up Itasha, while Decotrade reminds them they should collect Gyahsoline anyways. Itasha gets up and tries to create a Kurumaju from a train, but trips down and inserts her Ignition Key in a train track, creating Senro Grumer. While Itasha is disappointed at her failure, the Grumer emits a blinding flash of light from his eyes, dazzling the Sanseaters.

Back at the Boonboomger's base, the Boonboomgers get a call from Jyo, who warns them of the Kurumaju's appearance before screaming in panic and hanging up. The Boonboomgers hurry to his location and find him, the Sanseaters and other civilains forced to form a Conga Line headed by Senro Grumer. Senro Grumer then shoots balls of light and forces Ishiro and Mira to join the line, trapping them as they continue his hellish train, and summons Neziretta to keep Taiya away, so Taiya transforms to fight them.

Outside of the train station, Akira organizes a sumo match between Genba and Sakito, saying that his Conductor once said it's the best way to deal with conflicts. Genba tries to quit the match while Sakito tries to convince him to rejoin the Boonboomgers and stop fighting alone. Genba claims they're different than him, Sakito tells him that's what makes all of them good together. Genba then resists his attacks and throws both of them away. He grounds Sakito and tells him that it's his only chance to defeat Disrace, and that deserves to die if he won't get him. After listening thoroughly, Akira asks Genba if he's looking for a place to die and tells him about how he used to be a member of the Shadow Line before seeing a rainbow and vowing to protect them. Sakito doesn't understand the connection to Genba's situation because Akira is still alive.

Suddenly, Senro Grumer and his Conga Line appear in the train station, and the Kurumaju shoots balls of light at Genba, Akira, and Byun-Di, resulting in the Trio trapped in the Grumer conga line in that order. Genba inadvertently commented that this is beyond his capability to help, which makes Jyo, Ishiro, and Mira realizes that Genba is behind them, much to Genba's embarrassment. While the Boonboomgers are happy to see Genba back, they ask him who's the other guy behind him. Byun-Di answers that the Guy in construction worker attire is Akira Nijino, a ToQger, which resulted in their confusion. Sakito dashes in front of Senro Grumer and prepares to shoot at him, but the Kurumaju tells him that if he does so, everyone else he trapped will get caught in the explosion. The whole conga line passengers complained that Senro Grumer didn't tell them that fact beforehands, and Sakito unwillingly decides to step aside. The Sanseaters compliment him before realizing that they're also in danger because they're trapped in the line. Taiya arrives and tells Sakito that in order to stop the Kurumaju, they should form their own railway.

ToQ 1gou Returns

ToQ 1gou Returns

Taiya and Sakito follow Senro Grumer and corner him in a park before transform into Bun Red and Violet respectively, then, using their Boonboom Handle and Boonboom Controller finishers, the duo ended up creating a railway and forcing him and his hostages to go in circles, safely removing the exploding risk. Akira says Taiya has a nice Imagination and that he reminds him of Right. While Taiya wondered who is Right that Akira talked about, Suddenly, the Rainbow Line appears and a Red Ranger, ToQ 1gou jumps out of it. He greets Akira and uses Taiya and Sakito to hold down the Renketsu Bazooka, which fires an illusion of Ticket, who clones himself and frees all of Senro Grumer's hostages. Right tells taiya and Sakito that they're pretty good while Senro Grumer summons Neziretta and runs away. The freed Ishiro, Mira and Jyo transforms into Bun Blue, Pink, and Black respectively and join the rangers, after doing their Rollcall, ToQ 1gou also doing his rollcall, unwittingly dragged the Boonboomgers to pose with him.

While fighting the Neziretta in a forest, ToQ 1gou uses Transfer Change using Yellow and Green Ressha to defeat them, impressing the Boonboomgers. While they're all fighting, Genba watches from the sidelines, and Akira tells him that the Boonboomgers are quite a formidable team and that one day he'd understand that he still has his friend. Akira is optimistic that Genba will rejoin them before playing his harmonica and walking away.

Toq-Oh Returns

Toq-Oh Returns

The Boonboomgers and ToQ 1gou manage to destroy all of the Neziretta. Then Bun Red, ToQ 1 Gou and Bun Violet uses their combined finisher, Bakuage Rainbow Drive on Senro Grumer, destroying him too. When Yarucar enlarges the Kurumaju, the Boonboomgers form the Boonboomger Robo, but when Sakito tells Byun-Di they should join the Boonboomgers, his nauseous partner has to stay away because of the motion sickness he got from walking a lot. Right decides to help him and summons the Rainbow Line. Both of them board it and form ToQ-Oh using Boonboom Controller Voice Approval System, but Sakito struggles with the controls. When Senro Grumers forms rail to attack them, Bundorio uses Boonboom Off-Road to unscrew the rails and make him fall. In frustration, Sakito then rips ToQ-Oh's handle and inserts his own Boonboom Controller to be able to use it easily, much to Right bewilderment. Both robos manage to destroy Senro Grumer, but ToQ 1gou disappears from ToQ-Oh's cockpit, much to Sakito, Mira and Jyo confusion.

As the battle finally concluded, ToQ 1gou detransforms, revealing Right Suzuki. A hopeful Right declared that he could imagine the Boonboomgers successfully reaching their dream before he left for his own journey, with the sky still showing the Rainbow as the episode ends.

  • Coincidentally, the 32nd episode of the previous series was also a crossover with a predecessor Sentai team from 10 years before.
  • Due to the original set of the ToQ-Oh cockpit being unavailable (having been most likely dismantled since the series' end), interior shots of it are noticeably filmed using chroma key composition.[2]

Mira and Jyo jumping in a similar fashion from the ToQger opening.

  • The PSA scene is a reference to the ToQger opening, specifically the scene where the whole team was on the railroad running and jumping.
  • Jun Shison reprises his role as ToQ 1gou in a voice-over capacity for the majority of the episode, but physically appears as Right Suzuki in a short scene towards the end of the episode where he praises the Boonboomgers for continuing to chase their dreams. According to co-star Shin Nagahama, Shison's current schedule only allowed him a couple of hours with production but he still wanted to appear physically to not only highlight his character's growth throughout the years but also to meet the Boonboomger cast.[3]
