Bakuage 31: A Magnificent Challenge

Bakuage 31: A Magnificent Challenge (華麗なる挑戦 Kareinaru Chōsen) is the thirty-first episode of Bakuage Sentai Boonboomger.

Synopsis[]

Mira starts a part-time job at a curry store she has loved since childhood. However, a mysterious curry store that has recently opened up takes its customers. It seems that the Hashiriyan are involved in this restaurant... A superb curry showdown between the Boonboomgers and Hashiriyan is about to begin!?

Plot[]

The episode begins with the Sanseaters recollecting what happened during the previous episode. As the trio think that Mad Rex memories will never return, they decides to Butter Up Disrace in hope that the Rebuild Captain will grant Mad Rex his memories back. Disrace is shown finishing his phone call to an unknown client after speaking about T.P. when the Sanseaters presented him with a plate of several Taiyakis, with Yarucar exclaiming that they will have a Taiyaki Party. However, Disrace is annoyed by the Sanseaters gesture as he ranted the T.P. he wanted is Time Performance, as in the effectiveness and efficiently time usage. This prompted Itasha to use her Ignition Key to create Tokei Grumer Seconds.

And so, the Hashiriyan nefarious plan commence by opening a Curry Restaurant called Hashiri-Ya. Homura Sakito decides to visit since he had some cash after the mission with Ishiro. Things seems normal at first with Sakito eating a spoonful of curry rice, only for him to suddenly realizes the Curry Plate is already empty, prompting him to order more, and more, and more as the same phenomenon happened repeatedly. However, even after all of that, Sakito feel that he didn't eat his curry at all, prompting him to break the fourth wall as he furiously grabbing the camera and shouting to the audience to give him MORE curry, with Byoon Di worriedly try to calm his partner down.

The scene then shift to a peculiar Curry House, named Curry Shop Gon. Mira is shown working there as Part Timer as she introduced Reika Edogawa, the 2'nd owner of the Curry Shop to Taiya, Ishiro, and Jyo. Mira then explained to a confused Taiya that originally, Reika's Father is the 1'st owner of this place, showing a flashback of her childhood enjoying Mr. Edogawa's curry and be acquainted with a High Schooler Reika as well. Reika added that since her father passed away several years ago, she took over the business. But Hashiri-Ya Curry Shop stole all of Gon's customer. The phenomenon dispirited Reika, claiming that her curry is not that good, much to Mira's dismay.

Hearing this, Jyo and Ishiro starts complimenting Reika's curry, whilst Taiya asked if there's something off. Reika promptly shown Taiya her father's cookbook, stating that she has been making the curry exactly like in the recipe, but it never taste the same. Mira worried that at this rate, Gon Curry Shop will be out of business, thus asking her Teammates for help. Taiya immediately agreed and sent Ishiro and Jyo for checking the Hashiri-Ya Curry Shop, On the other hand, Taiya suggested several alternatives like procuring Reika's some of the world most expensive spices, offering her to redecorate the whole restaurant in a glamorous fashion, and even offered to buy the business. All of Taiya suggestions are outright rejected by Mira, leaving Taiya confused. Luckily, Boondorio arrived in time and offered Reika his help, since he have several experiences in making Curry.

As ordered by Taiya, Ishiro and Jyo arrived at the Hashiri-Ya Curry Shop, where they found numerous amount of people queueing, including Sakito and Byoon Di. When asked, Sakito claimed that the Curry in Hashiri-Ya is just too good, thus prompting Ishiro and Jyo to try the curry for themselves. After some time, the quartet is seated and presented by the notorious Curry. However, just like in Sakito's case earlier, their plate is already clean after having a spoonful. Jyo can only looked in disbelief as Ishiro claimed that although they DID eat the curry, it feels like nowhere close to enough. Byoon Di morosely commented that the four of them are already enslaved by the curry, with them asking for more servings.

At the Kitchen, Disrace oversee the whole chaos in glee, enjoying the Time Performance Tokei Grumer Seconds had to offer. After Disrace exclaiming that sinking time and effort to get result is Obsolete, The Sanseaters are shown to make the Hashiri-Ya Curry in no time at all thanks to Tokei Grumer ability to accelerate the Time by 1000x. As the Cherry on Top, Disrace placed a curse on the Curry, leaving it's consumer craving for more, as if addicted. Decotrade also divulges that the time for the consumer eating the said curry is accelerated as well, ultimately resulted in Gassholin created from the dissatisfied screams of the customers, including the Quartet Boonboomger. Deeming his job done, Disrace left the restaurant to rest, guarded by Mad Rex.

Back at the Gon Curry House, Boondorio reminiscing the reason of his love towards curry. He revealed that Curry is the first dish he ever ate after arriving into Earth and meeting with Taiya. Boondorio enjoys the fact that Curry can possess endless variations based on the spices combination used, and seeing Taiya's satisfied face after eating his curry for the first time is memorable. While Mira beamed after listening such nice story, Reika also start remembering about her late father, whom always smiling in satisfaction after thinking about his customers happy face after eating his curry, claiming that all the effort and time spend on making his signature curry became worthwhile. Boondorio agreed with Reika's statement, because the cooking process such as taking the skin off the stew, and stirring it often so it doesn't burn on the bottom is actually taking a lot more work, effort, and time that people think. After pondering Boondorio's words for a while, Mira seemingly find the last piece they need to perfectly replicate Mr. Edogawa's Curry : Stewing the curry roux a lot longer than usual. Boondorio and Reika immediately agreed with Mira's Idea and the trio begin their work...

At the same time, on the Backdoor of Hashiri-Ya Curry Shop, Taiya notices that several Nejiletters are currently stocking the curry ingredients. Immediately realizing that Hashiriyan are once again behind the nefarious scheme, he hurriedly goes towards the long queue, only to be intercepted by the quartet of Brainwashed Sakito, ByoonDi, Ishiro, and Jyo. Taiya worriedly looking at his teammates, only for the quartet to express their desire to protect Hashiri-Ya Curry Shop, even if that means fighting against their Leader. The rest of the crowds are also starting to surround Taiya with the same goal in mind, putting him into Panic.

Not long after, the Sanseaters and Tokei Grumer Seconds also appeared to mock and taunt Taiya because he's too late to stop their plans. Itasha ordered Tokei Grumer Seconds to attack Taiya whilst the chance are open, which the Grumer immediately did. Taiya forcefully transformed into Boon Red to protect the civilians from Tokei Grumer Seconds attack. However, Tokei Grumer Seconds used his ability to accelerate the time by 100x, thus rendering his attacks unblockable to Boon Red. After recovering from the Grumer attack, Boon Red attempted to retaliate by using the BoonBoom Handle Gun Mode. But Tokei Grumer seconds this time decelerate the attack by 10000x, allowing the Grumer to evade all Taiya attacks, which hit the Sanseaters instead, much to Decotrade chargrin. Decotrade then rilled up the masses to corner Boon Red, under the guise of the latter desire to close the Hashiri-Ya for good.

Meanwhile, at Disrace's lair, Mad Rex is guarding the place when Genba suddenly barges in. The Bureki Seijin wasted no time in demanding Mad Rex about Disrace's location, with the latter still pretend to 'play around' as Disrace puppet. Genba then transformed into Boon Orange, and after a brief fight, Mad Rex dropped his facade, wondering since when Boonboomger had a Bureki Seijin on their group. Mad Rex told Boon Orange that Disrace is currently on the room behind him, but in return, he had to relay a message to Boon Red should he survive this encounter with Disrace ; "Boon Red must kill Mad Rex once more".

While Puzzled by the statement, Boon Orange advanced and soon enough, meet his archnemesis, Disrace sleeping. Rage filled Boon Orange almost immediately as he furiously lunged forward, only for his attack to be blocked by Disrace's barrier. Disrace proceeds to brutally beats Boon Orange while claiming that he hates sore loser like Genba, and that their skill level are on a different class. Predictably, Boon Orange is mercilessly defeated by Disrace once more after the latter shoot a laser from his snake pendulum at Point Blank range, throwing Genba to the wall and canceling his transformation.

Back to the Boon Red, his situation seems to be helpless as he's barricaded by the angry crowds. Luckily, Mira arrived just in the nick of time as she exclaimed that she's here to deliver some delicious curry from Gon's to everyone. Mira immediately spoon-feeding her curry rice to Jyo, Ishiro, Sakito, and Byoon Di, expecting Gon's curry to do wonder to the quartet. Predictably, Sakito and Byoon Di roared in satisfaction as Disrace's Curry Curse is lifted from them, signified by a Yellow Light emitted from their mouth. Whilst Jyo and Ishiro also lifted from the same curse, the duo instead (literally) crying waterfall while singing their praises for the new curry. Affirming the success of Gon's curry, Mira invites the rest of the crowd to go to Gon's curry stand, in which are tended to by Reika and Boondorio. The rest of the crowds are shown to enjoy the curry with satisfaction, all their curses are lifted from them. This turn of event angered the Sanseaters, claiming that Mira had singlehandedly sabotaged their business, although both Itasha and Decotrade also showed their wonder if Gon's Curry had successfully lifted Disrace's curse due to how good it presumably taste.

Mira explained that Gon's Curry is bound to be successful since there's plenty of Mira, Reika, and Boondorio feelings inside of it. Another flashback then showed Reika's tasting the curry after long stewing time. To her pleasant surprise, the Curry is now taste Exactly the same like the ones made by her father. Witnessing the miracle, Boon Red is feeling cranked up by Mira's tenacity and dedications. Jyo then profusely apologized to Taiya from his earlier actions, while Ishiro exclaimed that their erratic actions before is due to the Hashiriyan's Curry Curse before apologizing as well.

With Sakito is now too full due to excessive curry consumption, it's up to the Core Boonboomger to finish Tokei Grumer Seconds, since the Sanseaters are also withdrawing to taste some curry. Ishiro, Mira, and Jyo then transformed into Boon Blue, Pink, and Black respectively. And the four Boonboomgers do their role call with Boon Pink as the Main Focus. Boon Pink immediately feeling Cranked Up and Angry to Tokei Grumer Seconds due to him using Curry for Evil means. Tokei Grumer Seconds then accelerate the speed by 500x to attack Boon Pink, but Boon Pink immediately accelerates as well before ruthlessly attack the grumer back with BoonBoom Handle Rod Mode. Not satisfied yet, Boon Pink immediately uses BoonBoom Twist Drive to spin Tokei Grumer seconds at max speed before the Boonboomgers finishes Tokei Grumer off with Bakuage Finish and Crash respectively.

Not long after, Tokei Grumer Seconds is enlarged into Giant size, and Boon Pink, who is still Cranked Up, decides to took the wheel for herself and summoned Boonboomger Robo 119. Tokei Grumer Seconds attacked the Robo with "9:15" slash, exclaiming that the "10:10" attack from his predecessor is obsolete. Boon Pink easily blocked the attack, mocking Tokei Grumer Seconds attack as out of time too, and that the hot time right now is "11:09" (alluding to 119's form) as Boonboomger Robo 119 delivered the announced slash attack. While Boon Red attempt to finish the battle quickly, Boon Pink advanced forward to deliver more beating for the baleful grumer. Boon Pink finally destroyed Tokei Grumer Seconds after borrowing Boon Red's Zoonzoom Shokablaster and performed Bakuage Rescue: Zoonzoom Finish.

Now that the Hashiri-Ya Curry business is closed for good, lots of customer starts attending to Gon Curry House. It's shown that Boondorio and Mira is also helping Reika as Cook and Waitress respectively. Reika expressed her forever gratitude toward Mira for helping her succeeding her Father legacy as Taiya, Ishiro, and Jyo arrived and ask for Curry. To Ishiro, and Jyo dismay, the Curry House is Full with customer, and Ishiro remarked that "Good Business are having it's downside too" as Mira smiles on them.

Meanwhile, Sakito and Byun Diesel found an unconscious and badly beaten Genba in Disrace's lair, ending the episode in a cliffhanger.
