Synopsis[]
Genba tries out his first job as a delivery man! If he fails in his mission, there will be a huge explosion... what in the world is going on!? Mira, who has followed Genba out of concern for him, are on a mission while the Sanseaters are trying to steal the delivery...!?
Plot[]
The episode opens in the garage with Bun Bun doing prep work on his curry, chopping onions and getting an apple ready to peel. Agent Saibu is handing a briefcase over to Genba to make a delivery since the others are currently busy with a mission, though she gets briefly distracted by how adorable Bun Bun is. She recomposes herself and says that Taiya personally vouched for Genba and how capable he would be in completing this task. Genba accepts the job, especially since he has always wanted to take a crack at being a delivery man.
In the alley, the Sanseater Trio have made a makeshift memorial to Madrex atop a rusted hubcap consisting of his handkerchief and dog treats, they mourn the loss of their commander with Decotrade and Itasha unsure what they will do without him. Yaiyai shouts at them to pull themselves together, their job is still to collect Ghassolin and they can do it again without Madrex. Fired up from this motivational speech, Itasha and Decotrade decide to continue their plans to move up in the ranks of the Hashiryans by working harder to collect Ghassolin. The three are about to head out but hide when they see Genba walking by, wondering what he is up to.
Elsewhere, Mira has opened a mochi stand with her boss from the bakery she works at for Children’s Day, selling kashiwa mochi to happy kids and their parents. Mira notices Genba walking past their stand and walks up to him to ask what he’s doing. Genba says that he’s delivering a package for the ISA, a new prototype high output energy source that could power all of Tokyo if it works. The Trio use camouflage while following Genba and eavesdrop on the conversation. Mira is curious about the energy source but Genba pulls the case away from her grabbing it saying that it is dangerous to mess with as the energy is highly volatile, if the briefcase is dropped, the energy source would react and cause a massive explosion. The Trio reacts in shock, almost giving away their position and quickly hiding again to avoid detection. Genba says that the reason he is delivering the energy to the research lab that needs it on foot is because it is so sensitive to vibrations that using a car to transport it is out of the question. As Genba heads out, Mira is concerned about his assignment and decides to tag along, pardoning herself to her boss to leave work early and leaving a note that she had official Ranger business to take care of, telling Genba to wait for her.
Decotrade and Itasha scheme to steal the energy source to power themselves up. Itasha and Yaiyai are excited but Decotrade is more cautious and lacking confidence especially since the Boonboomgers were strong enough to destroy Madrex, so they can’t beat them. Yaiyai reminds him that is what the Kuramaju are for, with Itasha finding a koinobori (koi fish windsock) and throwing her Ignition Key into it to create the Koinobori Grumer. The Trio order their new monster to follow Genba and snag the energy, but Koinobori goes the wrong way and they have to chase after him, though Itasha briefly comes back to the mochi stand to get some for herself, paying Mira’s boss for her mochi before running off.
Mira catches up with Genba and tries to stop him from moving, even freaking out at a passing by cyclist getting near them. Genba asks what she is doing, with Mira explaining that she is escorting him because his delivery is too dangerous to do by himself. Genba pushes her out of the way of falling metal debris and almost trips but maintains his balance, Mira screams in terror and hides behind a barrel thinking that the briefcase will explode.
Genba tries to calm her down saying it is fine, but then sees Nejiretta carrying Koinobori like a mikoshi and knows this will be a problem given the package. The Kuramaju demands they hand over the briefcase, with Mira attempting to protect Genba by trying to transform, only for her Boonboom Changer to be hit by Koinobori’s Streamer Shot which causes it to float making it impossible to slide on her arm to activate it and she has to hold onto it to prevent it from floating away. Genba is forced to try and carefully fight the Nejiretta by avoiding jostling the briefcase too much. A Nejiretta swipes the briefcase for a second before getting punched and it almost falls to the ground before Genba catches it safely. The Nejiretta is then used as a shield to block Koinobori’s Streamer Shot, which sends it floating helplessly into the air. Genba then tricks Koinobori into shooting the other Nejiretta and make them float, forcing him to fight Genba on his own.
Genba almost drops the briefcase, scaring both Mira and Itasha, but he catches it with his foot and gently hackysacks it back into his hands. Realizing that they almost were blown to kingdom come, the Sanseater Trio call a time out and drag Koinobori away, which negates the floating effect once he is far enough away from the battle area. Mira is relieved to get her Changer back while Itasha is furiously chastising Koinobori to listen to his superiors because they explained beforehand that the briefcase would explode if it was jostled around too much. Decotrade tells him to quit being an idiot and just try to grab the briefcase instead of fighting. Koinobori heads back to where he was earlier, only to see that the Rangers have left the area and his minions are flailing about on the ground disoriented from their time floating in the air.
In a park, Mira tries to wind down from the stress of the briefcase almost falling, Genba says it is fine since he didn’t drop it on the ground. Mira wonders why the others are not here helping and this transitions to what they are doing: helping kids clean up at a community center. Jyo is particularly fired up about this, aggressively cleaning the windows and dusting the rooms and floors while the others finished collecting trash and disposed of it. The head of the community center thanks them for the help, which Jyo humbly says is not a problem as cleaning is a great workout routine. Taiya says that it is critical to lead a good example for the children so that they grow up into fine young adults, thus this mission is of the utmost importance for their happiness.
Back with Mira and Genba, she notices that he is particularly motivated about his delivery. Genba stops and says that that when he worked in procurement, he was happy in seeing the progress of those he supported. But he hardly knows what to take seriously on a personal level, that is why he is so excited about doing the deliveries that Mira and the others are so passionate about. He then asks if that sounds weird, but Mira says it sounds great as he is trying to understand his team better and he is taking this seriously, so she will do her best to help him. Genba smiles, thanking Mira for assisting him.
Mira decides to scout ahead and calls out to Genba every time the coast is clear to continue walking, but as they are walking, Koinobori ambushes them. Since they are close to the laboratory, they only have to deal with the enemy one more time before completing the mission. The two transform and Genba takes Mira’s Boonboom Handle while giving her the briefcase to hold, dual wielding her weapon with his Boonboom Axe to deal with the Nejiretta and Koinobori. He effortlessly takes down the grunts in seven seconds. A watch alarm goes off, to which Genba says it is time, shocking Mira by tossing the briefcase. Koinobori and the Trio panic and chase after it to try and catch it before it hits the ground but they fail. Mira hides behind Genba fearing the explosion but the briefcase is revealed to be filled with mochi. Taiya and the others arrive with him congratulating Genba on the successful delivery, having been notified by Agent Saibu that the energy was successfully delivered to the lab while Genba acted as the decoy to distract the Hashiryans.
Mira was not informed of this but Genba says that works as the best way to deceive your enemies is to deceive your friends too. The Trio and Koinobori are furious that they were tricked and Mira also is upset at the deception despite having her weapon returned to her. Itasha fumes and orders Koinobori to attack, which Decotrade also agrees to as they can avenge Madrex with his help. The Trio attempt to retreat to safety, though Itasha stops to grab some mochi from the briefcase and Decotrade scolds her because now isn’t the time for snacks. She tries to justify it by saying how good it is and sprints off with him to hide, but gets called a glutton by Yaiyai.
Taiya, Jyo and Ishiro transform and then the team engage Koinobori. Despite his slippery agility as a windsock and assortment of attacks, the team manages to wear Koinobori down and Mira and Genba knock him off balance with a launching strike using their boot wheels. He is then destroyed by a triple gunshot and twin slash variant of the Bakuage Handling Drive. Yaiyai devours the Ghassolin left behind and goes into Highway Space, but after the Boonboomgers get into their Cars to chase after him, they do a “Koi Streamer Formation” with Boonboom Trailer, Off-Road and Wagon lining up side by side and ram Yaiyai off the track.
Koinobori is revived and the Rangers form the standard Boonboomger Robo, but their foe proves to be a bit stronger than anticipated. Jyo is still fired up from his cleaning workout earlier and summons Boonboom Patrol Car 1 and Racing to launch a flurry of high speed claw slash attacks. Genba and Mira then take control and summon Boonboom Shovel and Wagon to form Boonboomger Robo Builder Wagon Custom.
Mira uses her Wagon’s claw to block Koinobori’s staff and hold it, giving Builder Wagon Custom an opening to finish the fight with the Bakuage Hammer: Boonboom Crash attack, sending Koinobori flying with an uppercut hammer swing to explode in midair.
Later at the garage, everyone celebrates a successful Children’s Day, enjoying mochi from Mira’s bakery. Mira and Genba debate over whether coarse or smooth anko is best on mochi while Jyo irritates Ishiro by taking more of the coarse anko mochi and tries to hide it.
Taiya says that he didn’t expect Mira to work with Genba, but she asks if she was made the decoy often, Genba responds that she was a big help today because her legitimate fear of the briefcase exploding helped sell the ruse to the enemy. The mission was a success all thanks to her, Mira is flattered by the compliment and says not to forget that. Genba tells Taiya that being a delivery man was more fun than he thought it would be and the three of them have a good laugh about their adventures today. Bun Bun walks in with a spicy version of his Boonboom Curry, saying that it would go great with the sweets that they are enjoying, with everyone rushing in to get some.
