Baboo is a henchman of Rita Repulsa and Lord Zedd who is paired with Squatt.

Joining Forces with Rita Repulsa[]
In the past he was the alchemist for King Batuee of the Pongies, who ordered him to create a potion of invincibility against Rita and her army. Baboo pleaded with the king to be cautious as he was not sure if the potion was ready, the king ignored him as both he and his army drank it, turning to stone. In anger the remaining Pongies shackled Baboo and left him to rot as they abandon the planet rather than to be conquered. When Rita, Squatt and Finster reached the castle, they found Baboo deep in despair and ready for death. But instead Rita decide to invite Baboo to become her official alchemist.

Defeat and Capture[]
Having conquered many worlds in the service of Lord Zedd, Rita established a Moon Palace on the planet's moon. She launched attacks against the world but her invasion was halted by the powerful sage called Zordon. A mighty wizard from Eltar, Zordon and Rita's servants and warriors had many confrontations; the pair built up a lasting competition as they won and lost battles. Rita, seemingly admitting her failure, called for negotiations to be made between her camp and the warriors of Earth.
Rita and her generals were subjected to emotional stability rehabilitation.
Meeting with Zordon, Rita revealed the depths of her treachery and trapped Zordon in a time warp. Before Zordon was gone, the wizard revealed he was prepared with his own fail safe. Conjuring up a space dumpster, Zordon sealed away Rita and her chief aides and servants and cast them into space. Inside the dumpster, Rita and her generals were subjected to rehabilitation via constructed scenarios to install emotional stability. Rise of Drakkon[]
Arrival Day[]
In an unspecified modern year, the dumpster crashed on the Moon and a pair of curious astronauts stumbled upon the strange container and broke the seal that kept Rita's evil at bay. Released from her prison, she destroyed the dumpster and quickly set her sights on Earth. Reoccupying her Moon Palace base, which had lay vacant for eons, Rita sent her chief warrior, Goldar, to Earth to lay siege to the world.
However, Rita was met by her opponent Zordon, who had managed to re-establish contact with Earth and gather new warriors. Beginning her second invasion of the planet, Rita's monsters were constantly defeated by Zordon's new Power Rangers, teenage humans who wielded the mighty Power Coins. These events (which happened in the franchise's first episode "Day of the Dumpster") became known as "Arrival Day" in the comic continuity. COMIC STORY- GGPR #1
The Dragon Power Coin[]
Because of certain forces aligning on the astral plane, a spatial convergence allows Rita to cast a spell and open a portal to the planet Breel. She leaves Goldar in charge and secretly tasks Baboo to incite treachery among her generals while she's gone. After she enters the portal, the force also sucks in the Power Rangers to Breel. Rita manages to escape with the Dragon Power Coin and Dragon Dagger from the Temple of Repulsa with the assistance of Queen Adriyel and the Kedry. She reveals to her minions that Baboo's plan of treachery was a test of their loyalty to her to ensure they can forge the creation of the Green Ranger together. COMIC STORY- GGPR #16
The Black Dragon[]
Baboo and Squatt brought food for Goldar when he was imprisoned by Rita for his failure in losing her Green Ranger. COMIC STORY- MMPR #3
The New Green Ranger[]
Sometime after the events of Shattered Grid, Lord Zedd made him his new Dark Black Ranger.

- He was tall, slim, blue-skinned, and vampiric, and resembles a cross between a monkey and a bat with crippled wings. He wore a monocle over his left eye and what appeared to be a pocket watch on his chest. Like Finster, he mainly worked behind the lines. Though spineless and scatterbrained, he was highly creative.
Etymology[]
- According to the original script for the pilot version of Day of the Dumpster, Baboo's name was going to be Mongo. Before that, in the first draft of the original script, Baboo was called Japanja as a homage to the show's country of origin.
Notes[]
- The legs on Baboo's back when he's the Dark Black Ranger are similar to that of the Iron Spider in Marvel Comics.
- Also, the fact that Baboo is somewhat primate-like makes him similar to Ultimate Spidermonkey as he appeared in Ben 10: Ultimate Alien.
