With Jiro Momotani still having split personalities, this special should take place some time before episode 48. Sonoshi's dialogue towards the end of the special indicates that this is before Sonogo and Sonoroku are brought in for assistance, suggesting that this special takes place before the latter two's debut episode, within which also sets up a chain of events surrounding Jiro and leading to the complete fusion of his dual personalities.
There is a minor continuity issue regarding the relationships between the main Donbrothers and the Noto, as both teams only start getting on good terms after episode 46.
