An Area Fill 80%, as explained by Nobuo Akagi in episode 12 of Hikonin Sentai Akibaranger: Season Two, is a technique used in Japanese hero shows (mostly tokusatsu) to tease the coming of a new hero. A silhouette of the new hero is shown, almost completely blacked out but still giving an idea to their shape. In Super Sentai, this is not normally used for a new Sentai (with the exception of the unofficial Sentai, Akibaranger) team as the first official image, released around late December/early January in the last weeks of the current Sentai, normally depicts them in full. However, this is sometimes used for Sentai's additional heroes. It can also be used for an upcoming Power Up or Mecha.

The concept of "Area Fill 80 percent" is explained by Nobuo Akagi (AkibaRed) in Hikonin Sentai Akibaranger: Season Two Ep. 12: Delusional Apostle, when the new hero, Prism Ace, appears and is previewed in a magazine as he takes the Sunday 7:30AM time slot from the Super Sentai Series.

The Area Fill 80% technique was also used by Nickelodeon in a promo teasing the arrival of Super Megaforce Silver (Gokai Silver) in Power Rangers Super Megaforce.
