Amy Steele is a fugitive from an alternate reality that managed to break through the reality barrier into the Prime reality. She is the mother of VR Trooper leader Ryan Steele and ex-wife of Dr. Tyler Steele.
History[]
VR Troopers[]
Ryan Steele is unable to sleep and goes for a late night run and comes across a break-in at Angel Grove Water and Power. He transforms and comes across a mysterious alien and discovers a cloaked figure working on a machine. VR Ryan calls Kaitlin Star and JB Reese for backup as a battle breaks out. VR Ryan destroys the machine the cloaked figure was working on, causing them to take the civilians hostage in exchange for his Virtualizer. Ryan gives it up to the cloaked figure who nearly transforms until VR JB and VR Kaitlin make the save and force a retreat.
Back at VR Trooper HQ, the Troopers go over the case with Zarysh and discover the machine was some sort of teleportation device. The cloaked figure is revealed to be from an alternate reality Earth and Ryan learns the truth surrounding his father's death that the Eltarians were keeping from him. Two years ago, Tyler Steele and his colleagues study the reality barrier without the Eltarian government's knowledge or approval, attempting to pierce it and offer Earth another reality. They manage to break through the barrier but the experiment failed leaving no survivors. A cloaked fugitive later crosses the reality barrier from an alternate Earth into Angel Grove, leading the Eltarian government to form the VR Troopers to combat the threat.
Ryan leaves HQ to get some space and contemplates who his allies really are. Meanwhile, JB and Kaitlin talk about what Zarysh is still hiding from them about the case and what happened. JB notes that since the Virtualizers are keyed to their unique bio-signatures, the mystery criminal must be related to Ryan.
COMIC STORY- VR Troopers #1
The next morning at VR Trooper HQ, the VR Troopers meet up to discuss capturing the alternate reality fugitive and suspicions surrounding Ziktor Industries and their visors. Kaitlin decides to investigate Ziktor Industries on her own while J.B. fills in Ryan on their suspicions that the fugitive could be Ryan's father.
Kaitlin uses her journalism background to present herself as a reporter from the Angel Grove University Gazette interested in an internship to get a meeting with Ms. Abel. While being given a tour of the offices, Kaitlin manages to sneak away to a lab where Skugs are seen in tubes.
The cloaked fugitive sneaks up behind Kaitlin and attempts to steal her Virtualizer before she transforms. The fugitive and VR Kaitlin get into a fight in the lab which causes an alert to sound to Karl Ziktor and Ziktor's Secretaries. While VR Kaitlin is distracted, the fugitive takes her Virtualizer and escapes the lab, leaving her to be captured by the Virtual Reality villain Grimlord.
COMIC STORY- VR Troopers #2
At VR Trooper HQ, Ryan contemplates the possibility that his father is still alive, remembering his childhood when it was reported that his father died. No body was found and they couldn't track down his mother, so Professor Horatio Hart's family took Ryan in. As he recalls being recruited for the VR Troopers, he starts to question all of the secrets Zarysh and the Eltarians are withholding and asks J.B. for help in deciphering his father's old notes.
Back at VR Trooper HQ, J.B. breaks down Professor Hart and Tyler Steele's old notes and learned that they wanted to achieve something humans could do that Eltarians could not. He finds a one-time passcode on dozens of files that Ryan reveals to be his mother's name Amy. The files reveal that Tyler and Professor Hart created the VR Troopers as Ryan grabs his phone to tell Kaitlin. Ryan reads Kaitlin's SOS message on his phone right as the mysterious fugitive enters HQ and begins attacking. VR Ryan and J.B. manage to neutralize the fugitive and removes its exo-suit, revealing their identity to be Ryan's mother, Amy.
COMIC STORY- VR Troopers #3
At VR Trooper HQ, Ryan confronts his mother Amy as she reveals Karl Ziktor's consciousness is completely entwined with Grimlord and they will stop at nothing to breach the reality barrier. Grimlord and Ziktor have only mastered transferring energy across but not matter. Only Tyler Steele and Horatio Hart ever mastered inter-reality matter transfer when they created the VR Troopers.
The Eltarians abandon Amy, Tyler, and Horatio in an alternate reality.
Amy reveals that they're both still alive as she talks about her previous defense position at The Pentagon which acted as a shell for the Eltarian Empire. Tyler stopped believing Amy would keep his research into the reality barrier secret from the Eltarians and took Ryan across the country to Angel Grove. When Tyler and Horatio were getting close to breaching the barrier, Amy confronted him the night they opened the portal. Eltarian guards stormed in and threatened to shut everything down before Amy opened the portal which pulled her in along with Tyler and Horatio.
The portal was closed behind them as they were trapped in Grimlord's reality, tortured, and forced to do his bidding to breach the reality barrier. Amy was cast aside and spent years trying to get back to save them. Once she penetrated Grimlord's stronghold, she found Horatio Hart who sent Amy back through the reality barrier and destroyed it behind her. Amy reveals that Tyler Steele has now become the evil Dark Heart as both she and the Troopers get on the same page to save Kaitlin, Tyler, and Earth.
