- Pre-Credits Scene: Shovellow attempts and fails to recruit Drijan into his crew of Mashins.
- The title of the episode is a reference to the film The Terror Beneath the Sea , also known as Water Cyborg or The Great Seafloor War (海底大戦争 Kaitei Daisensou), a 1966 film produced by Toei in collaboration with Ram Films.
- Shoji Kohei/Takamichi is given a credit in the opening sequence, although it is text only.
- Two extras in the episode were named "Kotaro" and "Minami" respectively, a reference to Kohtaro Minami, also known as Kamen Rider Black /Black RX .
- In a scene where Juru is reaching his hand out to Takamichi, a poster can be seen in the background reading "Perfect Performance And Physical". This is a nod to Muryou Hakataminami's actor, Daimaou Kosaka, who is most known for singing the song, "PPAP (Pen-Pineapple-Apple-Pen)".
